  • August: Preparing for the start of the new school year, managing student enrollment and scheduling, and ensuring that there are adequate staffing and resources available to support the school community.

  • September: adjusting to new school year routines, managing student behavior and discipline, and ensuring that there are adequate staffing and resources to support the school community.

  • October: The focus is on managing parent-teacher conferences, ensuring student safety during Halloween, and addressing mid-semester student performance issues.

  • November: managing holiday-related events and activities, addressing student absences and illness, and balancing instructional time with holiday breaks and vacations.

  • December: managing end-of-semester assessments and grading, balancing instructional time with holiday-related events and activities, and ensuring student safety during winter weather and holiday travel.

  • January: Student behavior and Restorative practices after the holiday break, addressing mid-year academic performance issues, and ensuring that there are adequate staffing and resources for the second semester.

  • February: Managing parent-teacher conferences, addressing student absences and illness, and ensuring that there are adequate staffing and resources for the remainder of the school year.

  • March: Managing state testing and test preparation, addressing mid-semester student performance issues, and ensuring adequate staffing and resources.

  • April: Balance instructional time with end-of-year events and activities while addressing end-of-semester academic performance issues and ensuring adequate staffing and resources.

  • May: Manage end-of-year assessments and grading, balance instructional time with end-of-year events and activities, and prepare for the transition to the next school year.

  • June- Managing end-of-year events and activities while balancing instructional time with summer break preparation and ensuring adequate staffing and resources.

  • July is for planning and preparing for the upcoming school year, addressing any unresolved end-of-year issues, and managing summer school programs and staff.

Who should participate?

This cadre is open to all K12 Assistant Principals and principals with 0 to 5 years of experience. 

If the month has passed, do I still get access to that content?

Yes, of course! All modules that are presented you will have full access to the video, handout, and extra worksheets that go along with it
